The great new western series “1923” has inspired new looks for dressing and décor…including weddings and wedding guest dressing.
Great outdoor vistas are a dramatic backdrop for the ceremony itself. Long stretches of rustic bistro tables under string lights with flickering lanterns sets the mood for fine dining. Line dancing to a deejay spinning Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter is as perfect a celebration as any couple could plan.
Think Coachella with lace, sometimes called Bohemian style. Flouncy tiered full skirts with a low-slung belt or an empire waistline speak western. Sleeveless or long sleeved with a deep v-neck and fringed hem are starters. Western-look dresses are made of chiffon, denim, and suede. A suede vest with fringe trim can be worn solo and buttoned up or wear it over a cotton floral embroidered blouse.
A cowboy hat is the ideal topper and of course cowboy boots are essential. Cowboy footwear isn’t just plain brown leather anymore. Embroidered floral boots put a feminine spin on sheboots.
Still unsure? Binge on “Yellowstone”, “1823” and “1923” for all the details you’ll need to Go West this wedding season.
